Our Moving Up, Moving On programme has been created to better support local people who face challenges with addiction.

MUMO encourages people to find and celebrate their true self.  We offer a vital lifeline to those facing addiction challenges and are the first port of call for many seeking addiction recovery support in Cumnock.

MUMO has been created in response to those who felt overlooked or simply cast aside as ‘non-engaging’ because they found it hard to access services, or the right support was not available for them.

We are delighted to now have a dedicated Recovery Coordinator who works in Cumnock and will help develop and oversee this programme.

We realise the more connected people are, the safer they are, this is particularly true for those in recovery from addiction. We endeavour to raise greater awareness of recovery locally to help create a safer community for all.

“Everyone is in recovery from something” is a phrase we often use. Through our work we help reduce stigma locally by offering activities and experiences that celebrate all corners of the community.

We support personal growth through various development and volunteering opportunities and encourage better peer support through our weekly support groups. Further to this, we promote harm reduction through various training opportunities e.g., naloxone ,mental health, drug and suicide awareness, Living Life to the Full workshops.

Some of the work this programme supports
is delivered through our:

Collaborations with partners

We are building stronger pathways and connections for specialist input to support those with mental health challenges. This is being delivered via consultation sessions as and when required and during our weekly support group.

Through good partnership working we ensure better engagement with services by encouraging staff to meet people in the community living room. We improve accessibility by providing transport and additional support for those who face challenges/barriers when trying to access services elsewhere.
